Swimming yesterday, Jacob said, "If you need me, I'll be discovering Atlantis."
And Friday, Mrs. Pennell across the street called Jacob over to give him a lava lamp. She bought it because she had read that it would help her relax at night and give her some relief from her restless legs. It didn't work, so she gave it to Jake.
Last night, he wanted to sleep in the living room. He asked his dad to bring down the lava lamp. Brian told Jacob that he didn't need the lamp. Jacob said, "But dad, it really helps my feet relax."
This kid cracks me up.
And an Olivia update:
Last night, we were throwing a ball back and forth. Every time Brian got ready to throw the ball, he would say, "Ready, set..." and wait for Olivia to say "go". Most of the time, she would squint/close her eyes and say, "aaaaaa, GOOOO." Sweet girl.
She also has learned how to shake her head and say, "no". It's funny, because we have rarely said no to her in two years, but now that she can crawl to the lamp cord, the kitchen, the glass door curio, we are saying no to her now. Usually, she stops, props up on her hip, and looks at us when we say no. Then she quietly giggles and keeps on going.
Just last week, she started walking on her knees after pulling up so she could get closer. So cool. No stepping or walking right now. She just won't weight bear and straighten her knees. But, she crawls everywhere and pulls up all the time. So, we are enjoying these amazing milestones. Walking will come in time. No rush.
My sweet girl has red knees from all this crawling and pulling up. Perfect little chubby red knees.
