Olivia at 3

I started this post on 4/27. I'll probably add more to it as I think of things!

• She cries if she crawls to the steps, only to find the gate is up.
• Her favorite place to be is still on her back in the living room floor.
• She is content to be.
• Counting and alphabet come and go. Sometimes, she'll surprise us by counting into the teens or saying quite a few letters as she sings her abc's. But, other times, it's just a "one-two-free" or "h-k-o-p". Same thing with animal sounds and any other of the few words she has now. Sometimes she says them, and sometimes she doesn't. Just adds to the mystery.
• There are still two bottles left in our kitchen cabinet. I told Brian he could throw them away. But he hesitated a moment, then said that he would throw them away when he was ready. See, she is still our baby.
• Lots of sounds. Lots of the same sounds. But, very few words.
• She will take some steps with the walker- more on the grass or carpet than inside. Funny girl.
• Her legs are still very stiff, but we stretch them and she wears long leg braces (KAFO's) a couple of hours each day to help.
• She can pull to standing and does so a lot (when she is in the mood, of course). Her teachers at school say she stands all the time there.
• She loves mom's morning out. The other kids seem to love her, too.
• She cries if she thinks her dad is leaving. Doesn't do that for me. Stinker.
• She still loves her books.
• She will take your hand and make you point to pictures in the book.
• She loves the pool and will say, "pool" and "wa".
• She's just starting to sing a few words and make a few hand motions of "itsy, bitsy spider".
• She bends and straightens her arms sometimes, watching with facination at how her elbow works.
• She loves to prop her legs up on the rails of the crib, and often falls asleep that way.
• If you start singing a song (especially along with a TV show she is watching), and she doesn't want you to sing, she'll sling her head back against the chair/floor or she'll headbutt you if you're holding her.
