The classic question we ask Jacob every day. "What did you learn today?" The answer is always something along the lines of, "I don't know" or "I can't remember." Not today though.
During the ride home, Jacob offered to explain his lesson of the day without any prompting.
"Hey dad, guess what I learned today." Then he tapped his chest twice with his fist, kissed the tips of his first and middle fingers of his right hand, and then extended his arm with those fingers in a peace sign.
The important lessons in life. This appears to be one of them, at least according to the first grader in our house. Jacob said he learned it from Suite Life of Zach and Cody on Disney Channel.
