Murray-Beane Beach Trip

The beach trip with the Beane family was great. We had so much fun shopping, eating, and hanging out together.

Tuesday, Brian and Daron went on down to the condo to do some painting (the trade-off for getting a free place to stay). On Wednesday afternoon, me and the kiddos met Stef and Jacsyn in Statesville.

We got on the road around 5:00 p.m. We had to stop for dinner at Wendy's, make a stop at Walmart, and stop to get gas. Three kids out of the car, three kids back in. Add that all together and it took us over seven hours to get to the beach. That's right. Seven hours. Every time we had to take a new road, we missed the turn. We listened to old songs, laughed, and (as Stef said) "made new memories". We finally arrived at around midnight. Little Miss Olivia decided she would only sleep from 3-7a.m. (Yawn.)

Thursday was rain, rain, and more rain. So we left the kiddos with the daddies and Stef and I shopped all day. Dinner out at the Crab House.

Friday was kinda lazy. Nap and a little beach time (except for me and O- she developed a nice little barking cough the first night, so we decided to keep her inside). Dinner out at Texas Roadhouse. Some more shopping. Brian got major sunburn on his chest and stomach.

Saturday the boys went to a sports bar to watch a game. Stef and I took the kiddos out to the beach and got to watch Olivia enjoy the waves in her bath seat. She loved the water. She didn't even fuss when a big wave hit her in the face. Sweet girl. Dinner out at Bonefish Grill. A little more shopping.

Sunday was cleaning while the daddies took out J and J for one last swim. The drive home took most of the day. Dinner at Cracker Barrel before saying goodbye to the Beane family in Statesville. Home at 8:30 p.m.

I wish we could have stayed one more day. Or maybe two.

Stef and I made a list of things we will remember about this trip:
  • Of course, the seven hour trip down
  • Brian- had the BEST Mahi ever (at Crab House) and the WORST sunburn ever
  • On the way down, we look in the back seat and Olivia is licking her toes!! Of course, it was her right foot- the only foot she can get close to her mouth. She has NEVER been able to get her foot to her mouth. It was such a cute sight! Stef tried to take a picture, but Olivia stopped as soon as she saw the camera.
  • Jacob is turning into a surfer. He even said to me, "I caught some gnarly waves out there today."
  • Brian wanted to go to the TOOL STORE. (and he told us this about a thousand times) He DID finally go to the tool store and bought lots of prizes for himself.
  • J and J wanted to go PUTT-PUTT (and they told us this about a thousand times) They did get to go and Jacsyn got "Two's holes in ones". :)
  • Shopping with Stef. Much, much fun. How can you pass up 99 cent shorts and $4.00 denim skirts? Uh...you just can't.
  • Lists. Stef is the queen of lists. As I type this list, I realize she is rubbing off on me. :)

I loved going on vacation with Stef and Daron and Jacsyn. I can't wait to do it again.
