Jacob: Mom, can you take a day off from work soon?
Mom (beaming with joy that her big boy still wants to spend time with his mom and feeling guilty that he even has to ask if I'll take time off to be with him...): Sure, I can find a day soon to take off from work.
Jacob: Are you off next Tuesday?
Mom: Yes, I am! We're both off for Veteran's day.
Jacob: Great! Then can Griffin spend the night Monday night?
